About

Up for a challenge.
Down for a round of golf.
Writing to tug the heartstrings.

Hi, I’m Emma

I’m from Topeka, Kansas. And I wholeheartedly believe in “the Midwest work ethic.” That and a good dose of stubbornness got me into state golf tournaments all four years of high school and advertising school in college.

My journey in the advertising industry began with a Creative specialization in Advertising at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. I got hands-on experience through internships at Agency Entourage and MasonBaronet and then transitioned to Levenson Group. There, I was part of a small, dynamic creative team, working on a variety of projects for brands ranging from steaks to security gates, across different media platforms.

At Hawkeye, now Razorfish, I embraced the challenge of transitioning to direct mail, a surprisingly creative medium. I primarily focused on financial clients and eagerly volunteered for any pitch that came my way. This proactive approach allowed me to contribute to winning pitches and brainstorms on various projects, from brand activations for Timberland to welcome mailers for new credit card customers—and win a few awards, too.

Outside of work, I am constantly exploring new avenues. I consider myself a ‘trier,’ always eager to learn. I’ve delved into screenwriting, painting and interior design and taken solo trips to unfamiliar cities. To challenge my introverted nature, I volunteered for Sofar Sounds to discover new music and make new friends. Most recently, I joined the Junior League of Dallas, a platform to give back to the Dallas community and connect with inspiring women who share the same passion.

I guess you could say my approach to life and work is to “keep chopping wood.” My Dad would always say it as I worked through issues in high school and college. Now, it resonates in everything I do. Always be iterating. Keep raising your hand. Find new sources. Absorb the classics. Create new connections. Because you never know what will spark the next great idea.
