I worked on the Capital One account at Hawkeye for 3+ years, creating winning direct mail and email campaigns, crafting messaging for SEO and more across brand cards and a variety of their partnership cards. One of the projects we got to work on was for their branded “buy now, pay later” product: Capital One Flex Pay.
Hey, Flex Pay
Roneka Patterson, ACD, and I created a concept to brand and introduce Capital One Flex Pay.
We started with a manifesto to build hype around our idea and set the tone for the campaign to come:
Owning it is more than an action. It’s a feeling that screams, “I’ve got this. I’m confident. I know what I’m about.” But the phrase also has a more basic meaning. Literally owning something. It hits on two truths: The audience’s desire to be original and the main reason for using Flex Pay—to get what they want, when they want it, without hassles. It’s freedom from the price tag. It’s more flexibility with your money. It’s simple, bold and ownable in every way.
